These gliders are able to sustain flight simply by taking advantage of airfoils.\u00a0 In our second unit, we will cover concepts in glider design where you\u2019re expected to learn the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The types of gliders and vocabulary used to discuss them<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to simulate glider effectiveness using modeling software<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to construct gliders of different sizes and materials<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to use control surfaces to trim your glider<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last unit we discussed the ideas of lift and drag as well as how airfoils help make flight possible.\u00a0 In this unit we\u2019ll apply those ideas in the creation of a series of gliders.
