By now, we\u2019ve seen all the steps of the Circuit Design Process.\u00a0 Using this process it\u2019s possible to turn real-world problems, questions, or scenarios into actual working digital circuits.\u00a0 Throughout the semester we\u2019ve covered the different steps of the circuit design process, and they go like this:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Define inputs &amp; outputs<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Create a truth table<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Create an unsimplified logic expression<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use Boolean algebra or a K-Map to simplify the expression<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Create an AOI circuit by hand<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Convert any parts of the circuit to NAND\/NOR as needed<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Simulate in Multisim<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add proper displays or display drivers<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Breadboard!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This process will all come together in this unit into one giant problem: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Birthday Problem<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 The completion of this circuit will give us a solid overview of the whole process, and also launch us into our next concept: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Programmable Logic Device (PLD).<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> At the end of the unit, you will have reviewed and practiced the Circuit Design process in its entirety.
