Well, “Remote Learning” is what happens when we can’t meet together in school. \u00a0Instead of having regular class like we’re used to, some of us will be learning at home on computers, others will be learning at WiFi hotspots on our phones, and others will be learning using pencil and paper as we read about the topics and try out practice problems.<\/p>\n
In short: Remote Learning means making sure that YOU continue to learn cool stuff no matter where you are!<\/p>\n
There’s no doubt we’re in challenging times. \u00a0Make the most of your school time at home, take care of your family, and keep looking for fun ways to apply the computer science you know!<\/p>\n

Plan out the first 3 steps of your work, whether that’s in BlueJ for your own program, in codingbat, or in CodeHS. \u00a0Make a plan for how you want to tackel your ongoing programming work.<\/li>\n- \u00a0The college board is producing AP Computer Science review videos to help make sure everyone is ready for their upcoming AP Test (ours is on May 15). \u00a0This week we’ll watch two of their videos that cover subclasses and overriding. \u00a0Watch these videos and take some notes for yourself –\u00a0the AP exam is open-note<\/strong><\/em>,\u00a0<\/em>so this is a perfect time to review and put together some good notes for test day! \u00a0 WATCH VIDEO 1<\/a> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 WATCH VIDEO 2<\/a><\/li>\n
- \u00a0Finally, let’s start doing just a little AP review by responding to the attached AP Free Response Question<\/strong><\/a>. \u00a0In addition to reading and doing the question, I’d love to be able to give you direct feedback on your response. \u00a0To do this, go ahead and respond completely to the AP questions, then either take a photo of your hand written responses and get them to me through the AirTable (drag and drop), or by email. \u00a0If you’d rather, you can type your responses into a Google Doc and link it in the Air Table or share it with me by email.<\/li>\n

- Make a choice!<\/strong> \u00a0 I want you to have choice over how you continue your programming work. \u00a0More info will come in an email Monday, but in short your choices are:\n
\n- Create your own game\/program in BlueJ using the cool info you’ve learned (and maybe Gridworld for graphics)<\/li>\n
- Practice elements of Java Programming in codingbat.com where you get immediate feedback!<\/li>\n
- Try something new and review all computer science ideas with short video lessons and in-browser java programming (no BlueJ) at CodeHS.com.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
- Once you’ve chosen which idea sounds best to you, E-MAIL MR. BENSHOOF to let him know how you want to proceed.<\/li>\n

Well, “Remote Learning” is what happens when we can’t meet together in school. \u00a0Instead of having regular class like we’re used to, some of us will be learning at home on computers, others will be learning at WiFi hotspots on our phones, and others will be learning using pencil and paper as we read about the topics and try out practice problems.<\/p>\n
In short: Remote Learning means making sure that YOU continue to learn cool stuff no matter where you are!<\/p>\n
There’s no doubt we’re in challenging times. \u00a0Make the most of your school time at home, take care of your family, and keep looking for fun ways to apply the computer science you know!<\/p>\n
